At the heart of this Mandal's own name and purpose lies Sankashti Chaturthi — the monthly fourth-day observance dedicated to Shree Ganesh, kept by devotees seeking release from hardship and obstacles.

The Meaning of Sankashti

"Sankashti" itself means "deliverance during difficult times," and this Chaturthi — the fourth day after the full moon in each lunar month — is set aside specifically for calling upon Shree Ganesh's power to remove obstacles, whether they are practical, emotional, or spiritual in nature.

A Fast Held From Sunrise to Moonrise

Devotees observing Sankashti Chaturthi traditionally fast from sunrise until the moon becomes visible that evening, breaking the fast only after offering prayers and, where possible, viewing the moonrise directly. The discipline of the fast is understood not as an end in itself, but as a way of focusing the mind fully on Shree Ganesh through the day.

What Devotees Seek

Those facing a specific obstacle — financial strain, illness, a stalled endeavor, or simple hardship — keep this monthly vow, trusting in the particular grace Shree Ganesh is understood to extend on this day above others.
